The CyReNe-Project (Cyrenaican Research Numismatic e-Project) is a numismatic digital project led by the University of Padua - Department of Cultural Heritage, aimed at creating a tool, with a dual purpose of study - and consequent enhancement - and especially of safeguarding, at least at the level of virtual data, the numismatic heritage of the ancient region of Cyrenaica.
Its purpose is to create and manage a public web portal where all the specimens minted in Cyrenaica (or elsewhere but for a circulation in that region) during Greek and Roman times and sold during the years by international auction houses and online sales sites or held in public and private collections could be collected together and made available to everyone in a structured and systematic way.

The data - including the catalogue numbers - and the images contained in the portal are being entered and therefore possibly incomplete and/or provisional.
The application itself is evolving, so we ask you to report any malfunctions to the project team at the email address: cyreneproject.dbc@unipd.it
The current cataloging is focused on the bronze coinage, while the gold and silver ones will be completed in the near future.
